The Haywood County Chamber of Commerce and the Smoky Mountain Liberal News have been very tight over the past five years. Smoky Mountain News Scott McLeod , is outgoing Chairman of the Board and was also on the Haywood Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Council. Smoky Mountain News Cory Vaillancourt is known to be a regular MC at the Chamber of Commerce meetings and he was supposed to be the MC at their meeting this past Monday night, until an article appeared in the Smoky Mountain News, disparaging Monroe Miller, Terry Ramey and 60 percent of Haywood County's voters. CeCe Hipps made the right decision and decided to MC the event herself. Citizens have also discovered the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce use Smoky Mountain News to print their publications and Haywood County taxpayer money is given to the Chamber of Commerce by the County Commissioners. Also, Smoky Mountain Liberal News publications are in county owned buildings. Would elected officials allow conservative publications in county owned buildings?
