BEWARE OF NGO's
Beware of Non Governmental Organizations or NGO's coming to Town Aldermen and Haywood County Commissioner's meetings to address environmental and social issues to promote social or political change asking for donations. NGO's came about in Article 71 in the newly formed United Nations in 1945. they are defined as nonprofit entities independent of government influence although they may receive government funding and grants, membership dues and donations.
