Citizens came to the Haywood County Commissioner meeting to ask for regulations against cryptocurrency mining, which are large warehouses full of computers. The one in Murphy has terrorized the citizens with a continuous jet like roar. The Buncombe County Commissioners have approved a one year moratorium so they can have time to regulate them.
This should be interesting to watch because the climate change groupies are infighting. The Sierra Club, which is the same as the Marxist Sunrise Movement, are against the e-waste and noise pollution, stating there is no way to greenwash crypto mining. While other climate change groupies are saying these giant computer facilities are helping Gov. Cooper reach his goals of his energy bill, House Bill 951.
