** Haywood County Citizens and North Carolina Citizens concerned about Needle Litter and Harm Reduction Programs should know about West Virginia State Senator Eric J. Tarr. He sponsored WV Bill 334, which withstood an ACLU Lawsuit and eventually became law in 2021.
The law regulates Needle Exchanges throughout West Virginia by requiring an "Honest" 1 for 1 Exchange, an ID for each syringe, and a State ID from syringe recipients. Violators of these regulations could face fines of up to $10,000.
** When NC State Senator Kevin Corbin speaks to us on (7/27) and Rep. Mike Clampitt speaks to us on (8/3), we can encourage them to propose the same legislation in NC. If West Virginia can do it, why can't North Carolina? Senator Tarr explains the problem and gives the solution, in detail, as if he was living in Buncombe or Haywood County NC....
