The Haywood County Commissioners issued a Notice of Correction, stating that the Notice of Public Hearing on January 3, 2023 at 5:30 PM concerning the Emergency Shelter at Clyde Armory was mistakenly published, in The Mountaineer, on December 18, 2022. See link below:

We must prepare for a future hearing and encourage our Commissioners to require any shelter, emergency or otherwise, to require "Sobriety". Many of the same non-profit groups that influenced Asheville's "harm reduction", "low barrier" shelter policies are very active in Haywood County. See link below:

Harm Reduction, Needle Exchange, and Low Barrier Shelter Policies are supported by most local Non-Profits, The Town of Waynesville Aldermen, and the Haywood County Commission Chairman. We're fortunate to have the (First In North Carolina) Needle Litter Resolution, however, we need more regulation (County Ordinance or NC State Law) to reign in the extensive Needle Litter-Drug Addiction-Crime problem currently in Haywood County and NC. Support for "Harm Reduction", "Needle Exchanges", and "Low Barrier Shelters" is support for Soros funded programs. Please again study and Share the information below:

1. Harm Reduction-Needle Exchanges First Proposed in 1999 by George Soros: See list of quotes from the interview below:

https://www.thenation.com/article/archi ... ange-trip/

* "As an alternative to locking people up, most Soros-backed groups advocate what they call HARM REDUCTION, a common sense approach to drug policy that would be a radical departure from current practice"
* "Harm-reduction groups are also fighting to expand NEEDLE-EXCHANGE programs"
* "Soros has made major grants for needle exchanges"
* "Critics charge that while HARM REDUCTION sounds reasonable, it will only lead to increased drug use, with all its attendant social ills"
* "He (Soros) has funded methadone-treatment and needle exchange programs". ($30 million as of 1999)
* He (Soros) had been labeled in the 1990's as, "the mastermind behind a global drug cartel"
* "Soros is the Daddy Warbucks of drug legalization"
