If there was only one reason to fire Caldwell, it would be because he attempted to strong arm the citizens with a collection of non-profits organized on the Homeless Task Force:

The Homeless Task Force was a dangerous game that should never have even been played. And to not only create such an entity but to load it with non-profit types is telling how Caldwell considers his constituents: bothersome.

Caldwell is NOT for the people of Waynesville and should be replaced as Mayor.

It would be difficult to consider continuation of Caldwell for his vote to create an "Affordable Housing Crisis". There were no citizens asking for Affordable Housing. (The record shows one member of Down Home NC asked for affordable housing -- the same group that gives out needles if that tells you something.) Caldwell was either duped or actually wanted what's too close to public housing projects popping up all over Waynesville now from his support of Waynesville Planning Director Elizabeth Teague:

The Comprehensive Land Use Plan was a FAILURE to represent the input from voters but instead took input from non-profits, left-leaning agendas, and cherry picked people. Caldwell failed to recognize this stacking of the deck against the people of Waynesville. (Incidentally the same foundational failure the Homeless Task Force had in that it did not include citizen interests.)

If nothing else, consider one of the major topics of contention in our town: homelessness.

Mayor Caldwell was the instigator and advocate of the failed Homeless Task Force with a goal of bringing together all the special interests coordinated by a very left-leaning paid facilitator to grow the homeless support network and population of those needing support.

Quite the opposite was Joey Reece who initially was appointed to the Homeless Task Force and quickly realized it wasn't an effort to derive anything to help the community but was intended to strong-arm the community into the preconceived idea of increased welfare and eventually increased spending of taxes toward increased blight. Reece resigned from the Task Force saying he didn't want his name associated with that foregone conclusion.

As a mayor, which kind of representative do we want to elect? There is certainly a difference to consider.

Mayor Caldwell believes campaigning is a contact sport! The in candidate forum held by The Mountaineer, Mayor Caldwell literally shoved his competitor, Joey Reece, on camera:
