It would be difficult to consider continuation of Freeman for her vote to create an "Affordable Housing Crisis". There were no citizens asking for Affordable Housing. (The record shows one member of Down Home NC asked for affordable housing -- the same group that gives out needles if that tells you something.) Freeman was either duped or actually wanted what's too close to public housing projects popping up all over Waynesville now from her support of Waynesville Planning Director Elizabeth Teague:

The Comprehensive Land Use Plan was a FAILURE to represent the input from voters but instead took input from non-profits, left-leaning agendas, and cherry picked people. Freeman failed to recognize this stacking of the deck against the people of Waynesville. (Incidentally the same foundational failure the Homeless Task Force had in that it did not include citizen interests.)

Freeman may have a conflict of interest:

If the town had a Public Relations staff member, Julia would be great in that job. If you wanted to discuss a topic like over-development, homelessness, or the annexation of Lake Junaluksa into the Waynesville town limits, Julia would represent to the voter the position of the government. But that's exactly backwards. In her current role of elected representative Julia should be LISTENING to the people and then pushing those interests on the government -- and in many cases pushing back on the government for things the voter doesn't want! Ask Julia what she's going to do about the topic of annexing LJ into Waynesville -- it's likely she will check with the Town Manager and Planning Director before giving her answer. We can't have that going on anymore.
