David Francis was responsible for Haywood County's Economic Development and agreed, in 2018, to pay the City of Asheville's Chamber of Commerce $100,000 per year, to send large development projects to Haywood County. Since 2018 Haywood County had a few site visits but not one single closed, large development project. So, if you add the $600,000 paid to the City of Asheville for nothing, and include his annual salary of $125,000 per year, that comes to over one million of Haywood County Taxpayer dollars for nothing.
