A project called WNC Citizens for Equality is a volunteer coalition dedicated to defending the constitutional rights to equal protection under the law. They seek to protect our citizenry from the harms of illegal racial discrimination and to preserve our society's progress on racial equality.
Their web site states Asheville's city and Buncombe County governments, and others in WNC, are governed by a body of leaders with a demonstrated indifference to the crucial foundations of our governing roadmap- the U.S. Constitution and racial equity, the overreach and casual disregard for had won progress, and are taking a stand to say enough. Our nation and community have worked too long to overcome racial inequality for you to so arrogantly take publicly funded actions that serve to divide and segregate us once again.

Simple justice reqires that public funds, to which all taxpayers of all races, colors and national orgins contribute, should not be spent in any fashion which encourages, entrenches, subsidizes or rusults in racial, color or national origin discrimination.
The City of Asheville set up a Community Reparations Commission in 2020 to set about defunding the Asheville Police Department and tearing down the Vance Monument. This was nothing more than another Marxist move to divide races.
