Four native Town of Waynesville residents are standing up and saying enough! They have watched citizens come to meetings, time after time, trying to get the current town council to stop trying to destroy our town, and they are saying, " Waynesville is Worth Fighting For"!
They believe Waynesville is heading in the wrong direction and the vision of the current leaders is out of sync with average citizens. They believe the town council should represent the will of the majority of the citizens.
The four running as a team include, Joey Reece running for mayor and Stephanie Sutton, Peggy Hannah and Tre' Franklin running for town council.
All four have been regulars at town council meetings over the past four years, standing up against homeless encampments, fighting the current council's idea of low barrier "no rules" shelters, protesting the surge of large-scale housing developments and, most recently the social district drinking, or drinking on the streets of Waynesville.
These four candidates will pledge to preserve and protect the Town of Waynesville and lead us forward to a future of REAL "smart growth". The kind of growth the citizens can be proud of and enjoy raising their families in. The kind of growth that will bring an economic future that will enhance our citizen's lives. The kind of growth that will enhance our police, fire and emergency services departments to keep us safe. They plan to stop the uncontrolled growth of apartments and condos we are watching pile up around us. Help is on the way folks! They are bringing hope to so many people who have had no hope of stopping the current 'out of control" town council.
