The Mountaineer just publshed an article entitled, The Heart and Soul of Waynesville is on the Ballot". It sure is folks! This current City Council is killing us and Waynesville won't survive four more years of this radical left agenda. All they can say is Team Waynesville is telling lies about them but they don't give specific details or even try to correct what has been exposed. All the details are in the minutes and thank goodness we printed every single minute, because five months of the minutes are missing right now. Three months in 2021 and two months in 2022. They have had equipment to broadcast meetings for months, and just now, right before the election, have decided to let citizens know what goes on in their meetings. They even voted to stop posting ordinance changes in the newspaper. In this Mountaineer article their only good accomplishments are greenways paths, rehabbing the dog park, and getting a new fire truck that was all the fire chiefs idea because he located a great deal. They are even trying to take credit for a much needed fire station in Hazelwood that was promised at the beginning of their last campaign, and has been promised for 10 years, but the lot where it's supposed to be sits empty because all the money has been spent on the failed sewer system and town planner Elizabeth Teague's apartment and condo construction. This current Town of Waynesville City Council is a total failue! They have no accomplishments and the greenways paths are so grown up with weeds they can't even be used.

The current Waynesville City Council doesn’t want transparency. They’ve had recording equipment for months and only discussing using it right before the election.
I started reading old Mountaineer articles and the current council has been working on the failed sewer system for over seven years, paying numerous fines to the state as the price skyrocketed, and now citizens will pay the price, and we have a moratorium on building unless they use existing sewer capacity until 2025, when the new sewer should be completed.
Back in 2020 during COVID, when citizens were sheltering at home, the current council changed the entire Town of Waynesville comprehensive plan and implemented smartgrowthamerica.org the great real estate reset that calls for infill in old established neighborhoods and the density is so high in the land development standards, large apartments and condos can be built right in town, like the one you see on Russ Avenue.
Now they have approved nearly 1,000 condos, houses and apartments in town and when the sewer system is complete they’ll start approving more because they have implemented an administrative approval process which is a rubber stamp on large scale development, and takes away the citizens voice to be able to stop them.
Where is the concern for what the citizens want their town to look like? This current board failed in an attempt at a homelessness task force that tried to implement no rules low barrier shelters and sent money to Maggie Valley that ended up at a motel in Maggie Valley.(The Our Place Inn, All Cops Are Bastards Drug House)
Councilman Chuck Dickson is going door to door on his political campaign, telling people about the free new stove and windows they qualify for instead of discussing their failed policy.
Anthony Sutton, along with Jeremy Stevens, is on Facebook trying out their new Team Waynesville web site that connects voters to Anthony’s political campaign. That’s called riding on the coattails of a successful campaign like the real Team Waynesville.
Please vote for Joey Reece for Mayor and Stephanie Sutton, Peggy Hannah, Tre’ Franklin and Ken Hollifield for Town Council. It’s time for change.
