Team Waynesville spoke the truth about Growth and Development in Waynesville!

Fair and balanced article about growth and development in the Town of Waynesville. Team Waynesville spoke the truth. Deveoplers have a rubber stamp of approval from our town council because they changed the approval process for large deveoplement projects from Quasi Judicial, where the citizens have a voice, to silencing the citizens with the rubber stamp approval of an Administrative process. Town Planner Elizabeth Teage had to admit it was not a requirement of NC State Law 160D, only a suggestion from the UNC School of Law to make this change in 2021, in the Town of Waynesville. Most towns have a way to appeal the Administrative decisions made by the town, (appeals should go to the Zoning Board), but Waynesville has decided to send appeals directly to costly Superior Court, so citizens can't afford the appeal process. Also, density is way too high in old established neighborhoods! Team Waynesville will put this back the way it was before 2021. Comments from the town council are they love the giant apartment complex where Bi-Lo used to be and they want more just like that on Russ Avenue.
