In a packed Haywood County Courthouse, on December 5, 2022, history was made when Republican Bill Wilke took the oath of office for Sheriff and Terry Ramey took the oath of office for County Commissioner. This is first time in Haywood County history that the Sheriff and entire County Commissioner board are Republican. Also sworn in for the office of Tax Collector was Republican Sebastian Cothran. The audience went wild with standing ovation and applause for their conservative candadites which gives a strong message about how the Citizens want our county to operate and no WOKE Socialist agenda for Haywood County. This RED WAVE shows Citizens are not happy about the direction the country is headed and we see every area of life worse than before Joe Biden took office. Keven Ensley was voted back in as Chair of the County Commissioners with very little applause from the audience. He has been an advocate for the Socialist Low Barrier Shelter Motels in Maggie Valley fueled with crack kits and needles called Harm Reduction. Citizens have seen a needle crisis in Haywood County due to NC Harm Reducion handing out needles to drug addicts and drug dealers. This is a public safety hazard, especially for our children. Citizens expect the County Commissioners to further address the needle crisis because state law allows emergency action during a crisis.
