In a Mountaineer article written by Becky Johnson, the announcement was made about the sale of Pactiv Evergreen. "May 15—Pactiv Evergreen has inked a deal to sell the shuttered Canton paper mill to a buyer that would demo and redevelop the site, pending due diligence and final negotiations."

"Pactiv Evergreen announced Tuesday it had signed an exclusive letter of intent to sell the former Canton mill site to Spirtas Worldwide."

"The company has extensive experience taking over defunct industrial sites, demolishing the old buildings and repurposing the site. Pactiv Evergreen had been entertaining bids from more than 30 interested parties over the past six months, but chose Spirtas."
